Heavy snow and long limbs are not a match made in heaven. In this battle, the snow won. A high-up branch cracked and when it landed on my roof, it was a sound heard around the neighborhood. BOOM scrape. First goes roof, then go gutters. Neighbors rushed over, birds fled, even an arborist handed out business cards.
In a post from October 30th, you see that the gutters were just replaced. One reason to replace the gutters was because of the loads of pine needles that the parent of the branch sheds each fall. It looks like the gutters will be replaced again in the spring. House 0, tree branch 2.
